THE CLOCK
When you're playing a timed game with Chess King, each
player's time is displayed near the top of the screen:
Later, we'll learn how to set the chess clocks.
THE CONTROL PANEL
The large vertical panel at the left hand side of the screen is
known as the Control Panel. This is an important work area in
Chess King; this is the panel where you will select most of the
program's features to use them.
The contents of the control panel will change depending on
which button you've selected from the ribbon, and then again
with each feature you selected from the control panel.
• Here's an example. When you
click on the ribbon's Analysis
button, you'll see the following
features (all of which re related
to game analysis) displayed in
the control panel:
• When you've finished adding
comments, you can click on the
Analysis button again to return to
the main list of analysis features.
That's an important tip for
successfully using Chess King,
and bears repeating:
Clicking on the
“Annotations” feature
in the control panel
changes the panel again
to show the tools you can
use to add comments to
your games:
150
Clicking a button in the ribbon always
returns you to the main list of features
which are grouped together under that
button.
