THE NOTATION PANEL
The moves of the current game, whether it's a game you're
playing with Chess King or a game you're replaying from the
database, are displayed in the Notation Panel. (Don't worry if
you don't know how to read chess notation; I'm going to teach
you how a bit later.) The lower portion of this panel is the
chess tree, which we'll consider shortly.

The top of the notation panel shows the game information: the type
of event, the place where it was played, the opening code, and the
game's result (“1-0” means White won, “0-1” means Black won, and a
pair of “1/2” symbols means the game was drawn).

You'll see the moves of the game in the main box of the notation pane.
As you replay a game, the current move (corresponding to the position
on the chess board) is marked with a flashing cursor bar immediately
after it; in the illustration above, the cursor appears after Black's
thirteenth move (13...b5).

You can make the notation panel a bit larger by checking the “Hide
engine” box near the top of the panel.
