MISD CELEBRATES SHINING STAR WINNERS

veryone is a star at Mansfield ISD , but only three
E individuals are selected to receive the 2023-24 Shining Star Award . Names of non-teaching staff members are submitted by MISD community members , recognizing those who go above and beyond to enhance the district ’ s environment for living , learning , and teaching .
This year ’ s Shining Star Award recipients are Joann Sanchez from Custodial Services , Annette Debinski from Willie Brown Academy of Young Scholars , and Emily Davis from Charlotte Anderson Preparatory Academy .
Annette Debinski Willie Brown Academy of Young Scholars
Annette Debinski began working as a paraprofessional for MISD in 2005 and now serves as the receptionist at Willie Brown Academy of Young Scholars . She considers Willie Brown her family and enjoys building relationships with both families and staff members . Her most rewarding moments come from ensuring everyone feels welcome at her campus by leaving a lasting first impression .
Joann Sanchez
Custodial Services
Joann Sanchez has worked in MISD for five years as a secretary in the custodial department . She is always ready to lend a hand , particularly to fellow custodians in need . Helping others is her greatest reward , and through that , she makes a significant impact at Mansfield ISD .
Emily Davis Charlotte Anderson Preparatory Academy
Emily Davis has been with Mansfield ISD for several years , initially as a campus volunteer and more recently as the wellness coordinator ( ISS ) at Charlotte Anderson Preparatory Academy . Her greatest strengths are compassion and love , which are both evident in her work . Emily finds joy in working with children , especially when she can inspire them to dream big and believe in their
abilities . She always seeks out the positive in any situation .
