Education Foundation hosted the
inaugural Colors for Caring Race on
April 27 at Mansfield High School.
The event, held to honor friends
and family of Mansfield ISD who are
battling cancer, had more than 900
runners.

“This inaugural race was a
great opportunity to show support
for those in our community who
are fighting or have fought,” said
Lynn Wilkie, Executive Director
of the Mansfield ISD Education
Foundation. “In Mansfield ISD, no
one fights alone. We are in this
together.”
The Colors for Caring Race
included a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk as
well as a 5k Run/Walk. All students
received ribbons for participating in
the 1 Mile Run/Walk.
The event raised more than
$20,000 that will go toward social-
emotional learning grants and
selected cancer charities.
Lady Broncos End Season as No. 2 in State
Legacy girls soccer made school and district history for making it to the state championship game.

The Legacy High School girls
soccer team made it to the state
championship game and ended as
state runner-ups.
This is the first time a Mansfield
ISD girls soccer team has made it
to the state tournament.
“I couldn’t be more proud of
the girls and the season they had,”
said soccer coach, Zachary Hallak.
“At the beginning of the year they
set out a goal to reach state. They
worked throughout the off-season
and continued to strive and push
for the entire season. The team,
as a whole, was a family and they
could always lean on each other. It
was a great experience and it will
be the highlight of my coaching
career. I am very sad to see these
nine seniors go, but they truly left a
legacy for others to follow.”
The soccer team finished the
2018-19 season with a 26-2-2 record.
