the 2018 State of Texas
Assessments of Academic
Readiness (STAAR) exams.
MISD was also among the
top-scoring districts when
comparing STAAR results
with surrounding and
comparison districts.
Outperforming state averages
is an accomplishment MISD
students have consistently
achieved for the past several
years. In 2018, MISD exceeded
the state’s performance
by 10 or more percentage
points in 14 of the 22 grade/
subject combinations.
