AP Scholar with Distinction Award (93 students) - given to students who earn an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken with scores of three or higher on five or more of these exams. undreds of Mansfield ISD high school students were recognized by The College Board for outstanding achievement on their 2018 Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Students who enroll in AP courses have the ability to take AP exams upon completion of the course. College credit is then given to the student depending on the score earned on the exam. The highest possible score is a five. AP Scholar Awards are broken down into different levels based on the score earned. MISD students received distinctions in one or more of the following categories: AP Scholar Award (333 students) - given to students who earn a score of three or higher on three or more AP Exams. AP Scholar with Honor Award (66 students) - given to students who earn an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken with scores National AP Scholar Award (17 students) - given to students who earn an average score of four or higher on all AP Exams taken with scores of four or higher on eight or more of these exams. Last year, 425 MISD students earned AP Scholar awards. MISD ADDRESSES ANTI-BULLYING / SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL HEALTH M ansfield ISD is committed to the safety and well-being of its students. The district is currently taking several steps to set preventative measures and guidelines to enhance the overall social- emotional health of students. MISD sought input through three community meetings in October, hosted by Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas, to get valuable community feedback about the topic. All parents, guardians, students, staff and community members were invited to attend. make a recommendation that will be considered for approval by MISD’s Executive Council, Superintendent and MISD Board of Trustees. The information was taken back to the district’s new Anti-Bullying/Social-Emotional Health for Students Committee to propose a comprehensive plan that will create protocols, preventions and supports for the students of Mansfield ISD.
