What is This?

As you may have read, this ‘Mangazine’ is about Anime and Manga. Although Anime and Mangas are quite popular, not everyone knows about it. “What is this Anime you speak of?” some people will say, well, If you are one of those people, then read on as I try to enlighten you on the very deep topic of Anime and Manga.

What comes first, Anime or Manga? Well, there is no real rule that Animes come from Manga, but if you are looking at history, then yes, Mangas came first. Some people say that Mangas date back to the 12th century, but whether or not these scrolls are the Ancestors of Manga, is still disputed. Other authors say that Manga originated closer to the 18th century. Manga is Japanese style of Comics. It literally translates into Cartoon. Many people think that Animes are only taken from Mangas, but there are many popular Animes out there without Mangas, and many others adapted from light novels, games, visual novels and much more. Some of these Animes are Sword Art Online, Code Geass, Pokemon, Devil May Cry, and many more.

Anime and Mangas are separated into 5 different categories, children, Shonen, Shojo, Seinen, and Josei. The most popular of these is Shonen, as it is for an audience of boys ages 10 to 18. Shonen is typically has an air of action or adventure around the plot, although another popular theme for Shonen now days is psychological. It normally has a male protagonist. Some popular Shonen titles include One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Rurouni Kenshin, Code Geass, Death Note, Pokemon, etc. Shojo is the counterpart of Shonen, as it
