Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium to get
£70 MILLION expansion for
the 2022 Commonwealth Games
The 40-year-old stadium will receive investment to expand the current capacity of 12,700 to 40,000 retaining 20,000 after the event. This will leave the stadium as the largest permanent athletics structure outside of the capital. The Prime Minister Theresa May said that “the investment would be transformational and benefit the local community and the West Midlands region.”
