Eneco Holding NV is dividing its commercial operations between two separate, independent companies. Eneco holds a 50% share in the fully commissioned 129MW Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm and a 100% share in the 120MW Prinses Amalia offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. Sif and Smulders Ink Norther OWF Foundation Deal

Van Oord has granted Sif with a agreement for the Norther offshore wind farm in Belgium, under which Sif will produce all 44 monopiles and a pile for the Offshore High Voltage Station (OHVS), as well as all the transition pieces (TPs) in collaboration with Smulders.

Sif Group has won a contract to supply all 44 monopile foundations for the 370MW Norther offshore wind farm off the Belgium coast.

The Dutch outfit will also tackle the production of primary steel for transition pieces for the wind farm and Smulders Projects will outfit the kit.

Fabrication works are scheduled for the second half of this year and the first quarter of 2018.

Mane is heavily involved with the build, manufacturing and transportation of the substation and monopiles.

Spanish companies Navantia and Windar have signed a definitive agreement with compatriot Iberdrola for the construction of 42 jacket foundations and piles for the 714MW East Anglia One wind farm off Suffolk, UK.

East Anglia One will be one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world when it comes on stream in 2020 with an installed capacity of 714 MW that will supply clean energy to more than 500,000 English households.

The wind farm will consist of 102 Siemens 7MW turbines and the electrical substation which are scheduled for full commissioning by the end of 2018. The remaining 60 jacket foundations will be built by Lamprell.

By law, the Netherlands mandate energy companies to unbundle their energy production and power distribution businesses. Eneco notified that the mandated split will lead to job losses and the company’s incapacity to invest in new offshore wind projects.
