Carla Thomas ’ 79 MacDonald received the Herbert LaMont award at the Pathfinder Services annual dinner in Huntington . Carla was a longtime social worker at Pathfinder but for the past several years has directed the Bachelor of Social Work program at Huntington University .
1980s John Fredlake ’ 80 of Granger , Ind ., has joined the Local Market Group in the northern Indiana practice of RSM US LLC . John was previously a partner in Jurgonski & Fredlake CPAs .
Robert Vitoux ’ 86 of Winona Lake , Ind ., was named chief operating officer of Seymour Midwest in Warsaw , Ind . Seymour Midwest is a global supplier of hand tools with manufacturing facilities in Indiana and Tennessee .
Bradley Martin ’ 87 of Fort Wayne , Ind ., was promoted to mortgage banking officer with iAB Financial Bank .
Benjamin Smith ’ 89 has been elected president and chief executive officer of Estep-Doctor & Company PC , a local CPA firm in Muncie and Anderson . He has been with the firm for his entire 27-year career and specializes in corporate tax , income individual tax , and small business consulting . He currently serves as a treasurer of the Boys & Girls Club of Muncie , and Secret Families Christmas Charity . Ben is also a member of the Indiana CPA Society ’ s Tax Resource and Advisory Council .
1990s Todd Baughman ’ 92 of Raleigh , N . C ., is a lead scientist working in clinical trials at Covance Inc ., a research and drug development company . He has biked the multiple sclerosis ride in New Bern , N . C ., for 11 years and has raised more than $ 7,000 , biking an average of 175 miles in two days .
Vanessa Melone ’ 92 Baughman works as both a homemaker and a potter . She has expanded her pottery business , Branded Vessels Pottery , and is now doing personal pottery and couples ’ pottery classes .
Darren Bickel ’ 93 has been named executive director of United Way of Kosciusko County , Ind . He has more than 23 years of experience in nonprofits .
Calisa Doll ’ 93 Miller of Leesburg , Ind ., was promoted to trust officer at Lake City Bank , where she has worked for seven years . She helps manage investments , administers estates and trusts , and manages clients ’ finances .
