Tell us about yourself . Who is Kester Muhanji ?
Kester is the director at Aquila East Africa , a marketing and communication agency operating in the East African region . I have extensive experience in leadership at senior levels with a proven track record of working with various organizations on their strategic marketing and communication initiatives in the African market for the past 17 years . I am known - by clients , partners , and colleagues alike - for delivering remarkable outcomes for the commercial initiatives of various organizations , both local and multinational , ranging from corporate firms to government entities and not-for-profit organizations . My specialties lie in the development of marketing and communication strategies , advertising , experiential marketing , digital communication , public relations , and marketing research .
How did you get started off in your profession , what has been your career progression path , what interesting challenges have you faced in your journey ?
After clearing campus , I used to check the newspapers for adverts . One day , I saw an opportunity for advertising in KTN and decided to apply for the job . To my surprise , within a week , I received a call and soon started working at KTN , earning a salary of Ksh . 15,000 /= for 3 months . After that period , it was commission-based earning .
During my first year , I moved into management and got the chance to work in Western Kenya for a while . Later , I
