It ’ s interesting to note that as professionals , we try to make the best first impressions when we physically meet and interact in corporate circles , but fail pathetically when it comes to making any meaningful impression where everyone is watching - social media ! by professionals across different industries and niches . The results were the same . No matter what I searched , there was a creator catering to their professional community . From lawyers and doctors , to therapists and pilots - there were professional content creators creating for their audiences .
POWER OF CONTENT

Why Inability To Create Content Will Hurt Your Business

By Tomide Akinyemi

About a few months ago , my wife and I got our joint YouTube channel across the 100,000 subscriber milestone . To commemorate this accomplishment , YouTube sent us a silver plaque award , and words honestly couldn ’ t express the joy we felt in that moment . It was a landmark moment for us . It confirmed to us that all the hard work we had put into the channel over the last 2 years had not been in vain . It confirmed to myself that as a content specialist and strategist - I was good at what I did . However , it unexpectedly sent me down a rabbit hole I was not prepared for .

You see , getting to this milestone was a combination of many things , but a key component that stood out was that we learnt over time exactly who our audience was , where they were based , and what they wanted to watch from us that aligned with our own interests as creators . We made this the foundation of our content strategy - and as they say , the rest is history . In fact , we replicated the exact same strategy on TikTok and from scratch , built a following of over 70K followers in only a few months . This sent me further down a rabbit hole I was beginning to unearth . What was at the root of this rabbit hole ? The realization that there is an audience for absolutely everything ! Everything .
Now this sounds obvious . We all know the internet has everything . However , what we often don ’ t know are the sizes of the audiences interested in whatever part of ‘ everything ’ we may be searching for . YouTube and social media give us direct insight into this . It ’ s one thing to know that information or content is available on the internet but another thing to see the size of the community interested in those things . This was the rabbit hole I jumped into .
I started to discover that there were creators around the world crossing the 100,000 milestone across the most random and diverse niches . From things like pottery , marble racing , finger skateboarding to gardening and paper plane building - there were creators providing content to enormous communities . No matter how absurd the niche I cooked up was , there was an audience .
I fine tuned my search . This time , I wanted to focus on more professional content . I wanted to see if I could find content created

It didn ’ t stop here . I started to then search for industries and businesses . The results were consistent . From hospitals to construction companies - there was content being created for every single thing that exists . They were not creating content to sell their business or service , but connect with and build a community around their industry .
The biggest take away from this was perhaps , the realization that algorithms do not discriminate . They don ’ t because content is content . Whether your content is gardening , preaching , plumbing , teaching or dancing , there is an audience waiting to consume what you produce if you package it right . Why does this all matter ?
The world has a population of 8 billion people . 5 billion use the internet while 4.8 billion use social media ( about 59 % of the world ’ s population ). According to Data Reportal , these users spend about 2 hours daily on social media . While a significant portion use social media to connect and share information , many use it to be entertained and learn new things .
Every single day , these users search for exactly what they want to see , and these platforms point them in the direction of creators that have made content in that area . Whether you are searching for something tied to a very unique niche you are interested in , or something tied to work
