The subject of female ejaculation / squirting is still controversial , with divergent opinions , both in the scientific and social spheres . More studies need to be put into it and women too need to open up to the subject in order for us to gain more knowledge about it . as Ernst Grafenberg re-examined the erogenous zone that had been described earlier by Regnier and found that it was anatomically situated on the front wall of the vagina and followed the course of the urethra . Stimulation of this zone led to female orgasm . This spot was later on named after him and came to be known as the Grafenberg-spot . For ease of remembrance , it is known as the G spot .

Female Ejaculation And Squirting

Popularly known as Kachabali in Uganda or Kunyanza in Rwanda , the issue of female ejaculation and squirting has been hot on the lips of many , albeit in hushed tones . Thanks to Kachabali , some tourists claim hotels have Macintosh linens in addition to beddings in Kampala . In a heated discourse recently with friends over a drink , I was challenged to dig deep into this subject and share insights that would hopefully bring to closure some unsubstantiated theories on the topic from a scientific perspective .

Is female ejaculation real ? What purpose does it serve during sexual intercourse ? What about squirting ? Are they the same thing ?
It has been observed that during arousal accompanying sexual intercourse , women produce fluids in the vagina . Further to this , during orgasm , some women would experience a sudden gush of fluid from the urethra ( this is the pipe through which the urinary bladder empties urine ) of varying quantity . This fluid varies in amount from as little as 15ml to as much as 110ml . This phenomenon has come to be known as squirting .
It is a subject riddled with controversies , a feeling of sexual prowess , indifference as well as shame . The origin and composition of the fluid is also controversial , with some authors attributing it to originate from the urinary bladder with its composition found to be similar to that of urine while some authors attribute its origin to be from both the urinary bladder and some secretory glands in the area surrounding the urethra .
Female ejaculation too , has generated a lot of debate ranging from whether it exists to whether there is a difference between it and squirting . It has however been observed that it consists of a smaller amount of milky fluid which is a few millilitres in volume and originates from a gland similar to prostate gland of males which is located near the urethra . On stimulation , it gets expelled through the urethra .
The female erogenous zone was described by a Dutch physician and anatomist called Regnier De Graaf during the mid 1600s . After studying a set of glands around the female urethra , he came up with the concept of a female prostate , which he considered fundamental for female ejaculation . In the year 1940 , a German scientist known

Subsequent studies have affirmed the theory of existence of a gland known as the Skene ’ s gland , which had earlier been referred to by the Dutch scientist ( Regnier De Graaf ) as the female prostate gland . It is the gland responsible for female ejaculation .
Developmentally , during the 7th weeks of growth of a foetus , male and female sexual organs are not different and serve no specific functions . From the 8th weeks of development , the organs start differentiating . During this time , the external genitalia ( external sexual organs ) beginning to develop . By this time , male and female sexual organs become different and distinct .
Due to similarities in the earlier stages of development , prostate glands in male can be equated to the Skene ’ s gland in females . Indeed , the fluid secreted by the Skene ’ s gland has been found to contain Prostatic Specific Antigens , which is also secreted by the male prostates . In addition to this gland , the female vagina also has a gland known as the Batholith ’ s gland located at the vaginal opening near the labia . It can be equated to the Cowper ’ s gland in males and its function is to produce a mucoid secretion which increases with stimulation and lubricates the vagina during sexual intercourse .
