We need to urgently audit why a vibrantly sounding political philosophy continues to produce a raft of incompetent leaders and attracts the very dregs of society to the point that most democracies are now irrevocably corrupt, unstable and mostly led by idiots.
Unfortunately, democracy has been hijacked by charlatans and although they have kept the elections, as a route to power they have systematically eroded the accompanying liberal safeguards to the point that the elections themselves are now heavily tainted and suspect.

democracies are facing intolerant far-right political onslaught. now hallucinate that they are power-sharing.
Winning a democratic election currently seems to confer the winning party an absolute mandate to govern a country without interference from courts, regulatory agencies and the government machinery since they are all suborned by the executive branch.
The checks and balances that were the mantra of democracies, such as the judiciary, election bodies and anti-corruption agencies are now politicized or purged by the executive and operate at the behest of the president.
There is an incessant attack on independent media and the civil society who are characterized as foreign agents of disruption and fake news while the government works hard to promote government sponsored news as the authentic source of facts.
Democracies are now besieged by cult-like leaders who have styled themselves as the authentic voice of the nation and spend all their time demonizing opposition leaders as the treasonous enemies of the nation or simply branding them as a collection of fools.
Rule of the majority has also become the tyranny of the majority where minority interests are treated as secondary and unimportant since they cannot muster the numbers to make a strong political constituency. Democracy punishes the minority.

The audit says that Kasongo has all the qualities of a fake democrat. He campaigned on a hustler nation ticket yet his bosom buddies are international and local conmen. He swore to eliminate dynasties while effectively creating one for himself.

Remember, there are international governments and individuals that benefit from this presidency and they will support him to thwart the will of the people. There are also those in opposition who will be sponsored to create confusion and discord.
Kenya took an unfortunate turn right from independence and for six decades she has attempted to redress the mess and achieve a second liberation. The stars seem to be aligning for Kenya if she is brave enough to seize the moment.
Kenyans must snatch their country back from the grasp of those who will sell it to the highest bidder and Kenya may yet prove that liberation was not a curse but an opportunity for the country to forge a new and respectable identity in the world community.
Kenya cannot continue to be resource rich and yet remain poor, to have an educated, hard working and industrious population and yet fail to develop, espouse a political system that we know has loopholes and fail to plug them. The choice is squarely ours!
