By outlining the structures of MMEA at the District and State level, attendees will have a better idea how MMEA works. Mike will discuss where our membership dollars go and how NAfME supports all music teachers through advocacy efforts in Washington. Online Lessons for On Task Students 365 Stevens North- David Dashefsky, clinician Incorporate online resources and web-based lessons as a means of diversifying music activities for the variety of learners found in general music classes.
Attendees will have the opportunity to review free, music based student centered websites that connect standards based instruction with creating, listening and analyzing music. Session will include examples of how online music resources can be used as supplementary and primary tools for students of both experienced and limited music backgrounds.
You Can Be a Winner with Beginners 100 Neville- Marguerite Wilder, clinician This clinic provides sequenced activities to enable students to assimilate the content and skills to become musically literate by using musical decisions for rehearsals. From the choice of management skills, warm-up activities, through the teaching of beginning band literature will be demonstrated. The acquisition of listening skills, rhythmic and melodic reading, composition, and improvisation in an intuitive manner will increase your band’ s musical literacy
