on not learning music, but acquiring it as we do with language
through the core values of student-centered repertoire,
approximation, creating a comfort zone, scaffolding, composition,
and improvisation. Participants will receive information and hands
on training on how to utilize this form of music acquisition in their
classrooms, including popular and general music courses

Literacy

This session will share wonderful classical selections for developing
rhythmic and melodic listening/reading/writing skills in
elementary through middle school aged children. Participants will
sing/dance/play/laugh their way to music literacy with this
excellent music literature.
