Teaching in a Small School Program: Resources and
Solutions for the Instrumental Music Director

Those who attend this interactive session will be part of a
discussion of some excellent resources that can help directors of
music at small schools. We will discuss specific frustrations that
session attendees may have and some possible solutions. This is
also a community-building event. We are hoping to help form a
support network for small-school directors to share ideas over the
long-term. Come prepared to share your passions, triumphs, and
ideas!
Jazz Improvisation for Nervous Beginners (teachers and
students!)

Jazz improvisation can be difficult to teach and overwhelming for
both students and teachers. This will be a very simple framework
using specific rhythms and notes from which to start teaching jazz
improvisation that will reach every student and allow for you to
move to more advanced methods quickly.
