MMEA believes in music for every child. We, as educators, need to be made aware of the varied approaches to best stimulate the musical growth of all students. The 2017 Centennial Conference is designed to introduce Music Educators to a variety of skills and approaches to teaching music. Goals and objectives for our 2017 conference include:
- Showing how media, materials and processes can enhance the music curriculum and help students achieve their maximum musical potential
- Showing how varied approaches can help teachers add variety to an existing music curriculum structure
- Presenting activities demonstrating the role that effective leadership must take in preserving music education in the State of Maine
- Enjoying learning by participating in concentrated music activities designed to promote leadership skills
- Focusing on assessment techniques relating to music standards
The 2017 conference will plan on featuring many reading sessions as well as sessions on proficiency based education, current best practices with many opportunities to conference with your fellow music educators.
