introducing emily cook
My name is Emily and I am a 21 year old student at the University of Kent. I recently graduated with a First Class BA (hons) in English Language & Linguistics and I will be staying on at the University to do a Linguistics Masters.
I enjoy creative and journalistic writing and hope to become a magazine editor in the future. I am a huge Doctor Who fan, and I am lucky enough to have been offered a Work Experience placement at Doctor Who Magazine.
After visiting street school in Kolkata, India in the summer of 2011, I set up the Kent-based charity ‘Khushi Feet’ (www.khushifeet.org.uk) to raise money and awareness for these schools – one of our fundraising events last year was an attempt to break the world record for the largest Bollywood dance!
I also have a musical side; I play the Saxophone so I love listening to and playing jazz, big band and swing.
