Rocanini Café is located in the center of Steveston Village. As you take your first step inside, you are immediately enveloped by the alluring fragrance of coffee beans. The interior is quite modern and they use wooden walls and tables as accents. It’s a simple yet classy looking place with tons of natural light pouring in and the atmosphere there makes me feel cheerful. As for the menu, they serve a variety of drinks, loaves and other pastries. I ordered a lemon loaf and a plain latte. The lemon loaf was a wonderful combination of sweet, sour, fragrant, firm and crunchy. My drink was nice and hot. They make different latte arts for each drink and mine had a heart on it. I could distinctly taste the aromatic, bitter-sweetness of the coffee drink. Overall, this would be a recommendable spot to sit back and unwind while enjoying the view of Steveston Village.

Tandoori Kona looks like your average tiny restaurant located in the middle of nowhere. Don’t let that fool you though; the food is worth the trip. With a limited selection of Indian restaurants in Richmond, Tandoori Kona is the place to go if you’re craving Indian food. I ordered the chicken jalfrazi with buttered chicken and my friends ordered the chicken curry. The tender and juicy butter chicken is a personal favourite but my chicken jalfrazi was a refreshing change to what I usually eat since I never go for Indian cuisine. The taste was a perfect mixture of spices and the flavours ranged from sour to spicy to salty. Another perk of this restaurant is that they serve you several pieces of naan in a basket for your table to share. All of us left the restaurant with our hunger satisfied. I’d say that this place is worth a try if you’re looking for something new.
