LETTER FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
It is hard to believe that Spring is officially here ! We certainly have experienced a mild winter with abundant opportunities to enjoy some wonderful golf days in short sleeves ( sorry all you snow lovers ). We appreciate all of you who participated in our winter series golf tournaments , continued to come to the Grille for lunch and dinner , or just came out to play golf or have a cocktail and socialize with friends .
We are excited to officially get our 2023 season started with a full calendar for both our golf and social events . Several upcoming events coming soon are : Bubba Open Golf Tournament on Saturday , March 25th , the Grille will open on Mondays for dinner starting Monday , March 27th , and Easter Brunch on Sunday , April 9th . Make sure to stop by and check out the March Madness basketball games over the next couple of weeks , and certainly April 6-9th for The Masters . It is not too early to start thinking about some special events that include : Ladies Member / Guest June 9-10th , Member / Member June 22-24th , and Men ’ s Member / Guest held October 19-21st .
We are already seeing some of the bermudagrass in our fairways and rough areas showing signs of turning green . This is somewhat early but not surprising with the warm days experienced this winter . We expect the golf course to be in excellent condition for the season . Our spring aerification on greens will be Monday-Wednesday , March 20-22 . The course will be closed these days , however the driving range and practice area will be open .
In early January , we installed a new mat on the practice range . We have received many positive comments about the new surface . Reminder , our Summer Junior Camp registration is now available for enrollment . We are also excited to have Phil Hunt join our golf instruction staff this year . Phil is a PGA Professional with many years of teaching experience . He will be focusing on adult clinics and instruction over the upcoming season .
