As the world’s population continues to grow,
sustainability within the agriculture sector is
constantly being investigated.
The Nebraska Extension has been committed to
the sustainability of cropping systems. They began
partnering with the national Field-to-Market
(FTM) initiative, as well as the Nebraska Corn
Board to engage in Nebraska agriculture in applying
sustainability to crop production practices.
Servi-Tech’s role within this initiative includes
utilizing agronomists to serve as a mentor to interns,
as well as helping the organizations understand if the
Field to Market Fieldprint Calculator has value to
farmers and their advisors.
Aiding Servi-Tech with this endeavor, is Technical
Service Agronomist Clark Poppert.
“I am excited to be a part of this initiative,” he said.
“Having the opportunity to give back to agriculture by
helping teach young students and instilling knowledge
within them is exciting for the future of agriculture.”
The FTM is an alliance of more than 110 food supply
chain businesses, environmental NGO’s, commodity
organizations, agri-businesses, and public sector
groups to create shared vision for sustainability.

Fieldprint Calculator representative of four or more
agricultural regions of Nebraska against which farmers
