There’s a new trend on YouTube that we are loving - documentaries. With more experienced YouTube personalities wanting to take a more serious approach to YouTube entertainment, creators like Shane Dawson and Casey Neistat are now creating documentaries, often featuring other YouTubers. Shane Dawson, perhaps the ‘leader’ of this new wave, is aiming to uncover the secrets of fellow creators in multiple part series on his channel. His most recent documentary being his most controversial, focusing on Jake Paul and why he is who he is. We would highly recommend checking this out.

Hundreds have been arrested for their protests against Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee who has had recent allegations of sexual misconduct and assault made against him. The protesters marched the streets in Washington, DC, with comedian Amy Schumer and model Emily Ratajkowski being among the 302 people held for their demonstrations. Though Kavanaugh’s allegations had been exonerated, confirmed by an FBI report, Democrats insisted the inquiry was incomplete. The Senate will now hold a procedural vote - this, however, will not be the final say, determining whether or not to proceed with the vote. Just 51 votes are needed to go to what is called an up-or-down vote.

The US, UK and Netherlands have now accused the Russian spies of further misconduct, leading the US to level charges against seven agents. These accusations consist of four Russian spies planning to hack the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the GRU being behind multiple cyber-attacks on firms across Russia and Ukraine, and targeting the US anti-doping agency and nuclear energy company Westinghouse. Canada has also now confirmed that they believe Russian intelligence was behind the breaches at their centre for ethics in sports in Montreal.

Bursting with vibrant colours, expensive textures and nostalgic soundtracks, Crazy Rich Asians has hit cinemas with a strong impact, leaving the audience dancing out of their seats. We get to take a glimpse into the luxurious life lead by Singapore’s wealthiest family, where their son is committed to marrying an ordinary girl with nothing to her name. We would recommend seeing this movie if you enjoy romances with fun themes and also getting a chance to look into a different culture.

Netflix announced earlier this year that it would be rebooting Archie Comics classic The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and will premiere on Netflix this October 26th. Unlike the 90’s comedy series, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, this series promises to take on a much darker tone while still leaving the original plotlines. According to Netflix, “this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit”. While the premiere doesn’t have the same level of horror as horror movie classics, doesn’t mean the future episodes won’t! Catch the show on Netflix on October 26th but if you can’t wait, check out the trailer on Youtube!
