ELIEZER NDUNGU AGE 10 By Natilya Parmer, Towamencin Mennonite Church IGNITE Class 5 - Team Kenya E liezer is an intelligent young man with a heart of gold who comes to Potter’s Field Kids Club in Kenya, and I had the honor of teaching his class every Saturday. He stood out to me from the very first week because of his intense interest in life. He sat tall and looked very intrigued by all that I shared. He was always ready to learn and eagerly answered the questions that were asked of the class. He always memorized the Bible verse we gave him and even outside of class asked questions desiring to know more. He had an insatiable appetite to know God and His Word. Eliezer started coming to Kid’s Club three years ago when a friend told him about it, and has been coming ever since. He said his favorite part about the program is the class time because he gets to learn more about what the Bible teaches. He has memorized many Bible verses over the last three years. He shared that his favorite book of the Bible is Job because of how Job loved God so much. As we began to talk and play together outside of class during my time in Kenya, I could see that he was different than a lot of the children. He had a keen awareness of the feelings of others and a very caring personality that went well beyond his chronological years. Yet, he was very much a child who loved to play tag and hide-and-go-seek with his best friend, Eluid. You would always find the two of them together and they always seemed to be smiling. He studied hard at school and was always eager to tell me what he had learned. He helped his mom in the kitchen when he was at home and said that in his free time his favorite book to read besides the B
