THE
POTTER’S
CORNER
The good news is that this is not new news. There has always
been a problem with the majority, which is why God chooses
to do His most vital and powerful work through a minority.
Whether it was Daniel and his three companions, Gideon
and his tiny army, or the ultimate solo performance of
Christ at the cross, God works through the path of purity to
accomplish His Kingdom purposes. He is looking for hearts
that are undivided and totally submitted to Him. He is
looking for disciples who are passionately in love with Him.
You see, anyone can call himself or herself a Christian,
but very few can claim the
ne of the core values
title of disciple. What is
that runs through

Word says on the subject; a disciple doesn’t need to choose
women into the mission field, we are deliberately dedicated
for the choice was already made – at the cross, once for all,
to making disciples. Why is this so crucial to our mission?
when they gave their life to Jesus.
It is crucial because of the warning of Jesus:
O
“And because lawlessness will be increased, the
love of many will grow cold. But the one who
endures to the end will be saved.”
(Matthew 24:12-13 ESV)
Potter’s Field is about making disciples who can run with
the horses and endure to the end because lawlessness is
definitely on the rise. Somewhere in the mix of reading
about things like the rising suicide rate among pastors,
the increasing number of divorces between professing
Christians, the moral failure of church leadership, and the
like, I began to feel a nagging question rising up out of my
heart. What is happening to the Bride of Christ? When did
she lose her love for the Groom?
The difference between a Christian and a disciple is the
crux of why the core value to make disciples is so central to
Potter’s Field. Only disciples will have the depth of love that
is able to run with horses when the time comes, regardless
of how many Christians may fall in the interim.
The hope for every believer is that we get to determine
whether we are simply a Christian or a faith-filled disciple.
The stories you will read in this magazine are written
tributes to the passionate people who have sacrificially
supported, obediently gone, or powerfully prayed because
they chose to be disciples.
