Continued Commitment to Education in Ethiopia
Saint David ’ s eighth-grade boys sponsored and ran several fundraising events in support of the schools we helped build in Tigray , Ethiopia , through our collaboration with Save the Children . Pay-to-play sports , t-shirt sales , the annual Are You Smarter than an Eighth Grader quiz show , and walk-a-thons brought in more than $ 10,000 this school year .
Six Eighth Graders Earn Global Seal of Biliteracy
Congratulations to Cole B ., Henry B ., Max G ., Camden M ., Lucas S ., and Luca R . for earning the Global Seal of Biliteracy for functional fluency in Spanish . The certificates can qualify for college credit .
Inspired by a Mischievous Cat
Rotten Ralph Goes to the Pool ... to a Knicks Game ... to the Supermarket . That cat sure does get around ! Using the Rotten Ralph series by Jack Gantos for inspiration , first graders wrote , illustrated , and published their own original stories about the trouble-making feline . The new authors presented their books at a special performance for boys , faculty , and parents in our Otto-Bernstein Theatre .
