Activity #4

Teaching Pronunciation:

Vowel : /i/ and /I/

Materials: MINIMAL PAIRS.

Stage:

Listening and discrimination.

Procedure:

The teacher will repeat a word with one of the sounds and then switch to its minimal pair and the students have to stand up and say the word when they detect the change.

Activity.

1. Pay attention to the teacher and when you detect a change in sound (/i/ and /I/) stand up and say the word that has the change.

For example:

Teacher: Sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, sheep, ship, sheep, sheep...

when the teacher says ship the students have to stand up and say: ship.
