TO COMMUNICATE SCIENCE SUCCESSFULLY:
Irene Vega Today the scientific
community not only publishes the
results of its research in traditional
scientific channels, such as
journals in its professional field.
Currently, the figure of the
researcher goes beyond the
academic and scientific circle and
intends to approach society in
general to make its findings
known. However, in order to
communicate their daily work and
the relevance of their progress, it is
necessary to adapt the language
according to the target audience
and also to take into account the
channels of dissemination.
The Faculty of Health Sciences,
in collaboration with the
Scientific Culture Unit and the
Vice-rectorate of Research,
organizes
a
scientific
communication workshop. The
aim of this activity is to provide
scientists with resources to
ensure that the results of their
research reach all audiences.
In this sense, the activity that will
be held at the Alcorcón Campus on
Friday, November 22, aims to
address the different formats of
dissemination
and
narrative
resources needed to communicate
science effectively.
The motivation for this activity lies in the need to promote the university
life of the Faculty of Health Sciences, not only through cultural
activities, Francisco Molina, director of Communication, Extension and
University Life at the FCS, and coordinator of the workshop, explains
that it is also through transversal scientific actions that meet the current
demands of the university community. “Scientific communication
through technological media or social networks is a topical issue and has
aroused great interest among teachers and students, which already dares
to offer some content through these means”, adds.
