Hudson’s Bay.
I tried them on and I looked totes FAB. I ran to mom and I screamed, “MOM!” She turned her head to me. “I need these ankle boots, please, please please!!!!” I cried. I tried not to sound like a 2-year-old pleading for a toy this close to throwing a tantrum.
She stared at me for what seemed like 5 minutes then she nodded slowly without even blinking. I was cheering inside in victory. Smiling at my mom, she sighed while the cashier dropped the ankle boots into the Old Navy plastic shopping bag. The happiness was inside me, but I actually did feel a little sympathetic for her.
Sprinting out of the store, I dragged my mom into the food court and my eyes sparkled with delight as I saw the sight of lots of hot dogs. I looked at the plain doorway exit. Staring at each other for the whole time, we walked out and buckled myself into the front of the car. We drove all the way to Laser Quest, the place that I am soon going to host on my birthday. Getting the name thingies, Mom just named herself ‘Red’ and so did I, only I just named myself ‘Red II’. I sprinted into the back of the stairs.
The game was over after what seemed like, I don’t know, 9 minutes? I wandered, trying to find my way to the airlock. Taking the sort-of bulky vests off, I looked at the very dark room and walked out. We walked to my car, looking at myself in the washroom looking pretty fine. I jogged like an Olympic athlete all the way to the restaurant nearby (Boston Pizza) and got some pizza soon enough. Chewing on my pizza fast, I asked my mom, “Why?” Her pizza became a pizza with no crust as she took a glance at me.
She explained to me how she couldn’t spend much time as much as she spends time with her phone and games. It seemed she really wanted to sacrifice what I needed to do just so she could spend time with me like she does with her work. The smiles just formed on her lips as I hugged her tightly. We did love each like we were different types of candy. The smiles just kept on forming around the room. They didn’t even look at us. I think I just understand the meaning of happiness right there and then.
