Anakin had never been to Geonosis before. He had never travelled to any planet. He had been stuck on Tatooine his entire life. He didn’t have enough time to build a hut, so he would have to stay in the X-Wing for the night.
The next day, he began laying down rocks for the base of his hut. He continuously put down layers of rocks until he could no longer reach. This had taken him several days. He now had a shelter. He would stay here until someone had rescued him.
Many years later…
A lot had changed since Anakin crashed the X-Wing on Geonosis. Anakin had been rescued, Padme Amidala was out of power, and Anakin was now receiving training to become a clone trooper. The Trade Federation had overthrown the Galactic Republic, and many people had become slaves. Obi-Wan had started a revolution in an attempt to restore the Galactic Republic.
There was a Galactic War which had been fought for 10 years and was still in progress. A powerful destructive device was being designed by the Trade Federation. The Jedi could not let it be constructed, or they would be destroyed. Emperor Palpatine had turned on them and revealed his true identity as Darth Sidious.
Obi-Wan’s army hadn’t had much difficulty with the battle droids, but the Sith Lords had been a problem. Darth Sidious had control over the clone troopers, and he could turn them against the Jedi anytime. He probably wouldn’t need to, though. Clone troopers were no match for Sith Lords.
Anakin had not been keen on becoming a clone trooper. He frequently showed up late for training, he always brought up the back of the troop and was generally reluctant on becoming a clone trooper.
He was considering quitting his training and becoming a starship repairman He could attend the Jedi Academy on Socorro.
Anakin lost interest in becoming a clone trooper and refused to show up for training. Finally, in 20 BBY, Anakin quit his training and attended Jedi Academy. He received a degree just before the academy was destroyed in 19 BBY. After graduating, he received further training on Yavin 4 and learned to repair starships in outer space.
Things were getting worse in the war for the Jedi. The destructive device, named the Death Star, was scheduled to be completed in 1 week. Several planets had already been destroyed, and if the Death Star was completed, even more would be destroyed.
Tatooine had been destroyed, and the debris landed on Geonosis. The metal parts had been used to build battle droids, but the expanded army hadn’t been enough to handle the clone troopers.
Now was the time, Darth Sidious would turn the clone troopers against the Jedi. And that’s exactly what he did. He would also destroy Geonosis, since he had no use for the battle droids. The Jedi had to stop this. They had stolen the plans to the Death Star, and were planning to attack it. Their mission had to succeed.
Anakin was qualified to fly a starship and he was the backup repairman. He was ordered to stay at base unless the repairman’s ship was damaged. The mission began. Once the starships were in range, they were almost immediately damaged.
