Erin Stewart Your title: Public Information Officer Years in current job: 12 Years in your industry: 19 in communications field; 12 specifically in public education communications What’s the biggest challenge in your industry? The biggest challenge in public education communications certainly centers around the speed with which information can be shared. Social media, text messaging, as well as cell phones and other devices make it so easy for people to share information very quickly. That obviously has huge advantages, but it also poses many challenges. Information that is inaccurate is shared as quickly as information that is accurate. A very important part of my job is to make sure that messaging is clear and concise before it goes out to the public. An equally important part of my job is being able to get that clear and concise information out quickly.
