Competition, ever evolving technology and fraud are the biggest challenges facing the banking industry. Cumberland Valley National Bank (CVNB) is proud of the superior customer service we offer our customers and as a true community bank, it embraces a “Care More, Matter More” mantra. We continue to bring new technology features to our product line up – with the goal of providing customers with easy access to manage their accounts and technology that prevents and detects fraudulent activity. What’s the best part of working in Madison County? The best parts of working and living in Madison County are our people, beautiful landscape and central location – which combine to create great opportunities for our region. Madison County has a lot to offer and as a community we need to do our own part to help keep the community thriving, safe, and clean. 24 Nicole Day Jason Eberle Raela Phoenix Your title: Senior Loan Consultant at Lendmark Years in current job: 4 Years in your industry: 14 Your title: PGA professional at Gibson Bay Golf Course Years in current job: 22 Years in your industry: 33 Your title: Owner of the Bluegrass Barrel House Years in current job: 4 Years in your industry: 15 What they said: “Intelligent, dedicated, beautiful, and kind. However, what stands out most is her big smile and giving spirit that never seem to waiver. Her genuine desire to help everyone is apparent from the moment you meet her.” What’s the biggest challenge in your industry? The golf business has become much more competitive since I started at Gibson Bay. There is more competition and most of our customers are playing less golf than in the past. Providing the best conditioned golf course at a competitive price is our main goal and the challenge we face every day. The game of golf is a great form of recreation and we are working very hard to introduce the game to as many people as possible. What’s the biggest challenge in your industry? Balance with everything regarding personal and bar lifestyle; staying on top of the latest drink, food, music and sports trends! Always being on top of the game! There’s no room for slowing down. It’s always full speed ahead with creating the best environment people want to be around! Biggest challenge for me this year was to handle the business with my husband Anthony overseas serving our country! Probably the biggest test to my career was handling everything. I am fortunate to have my brother Jason right next to me who stepped in and has kept our wheels spinning! Having a great staff is a huge challenge and thankfully I do have one! What’s the biggest challenge in your industry? Competition for finance company services has never been more fierce. What matters to most customers in 2020 is greater personalization, more, automated services, and easier access to services. At Lendmark, we recognize this and every effort is made to keep up with the demanding competition, we are constantly improving our digital services and ensuring that our face- to-face interactions with customers is always our top priority. Although most banks are shying away from personal loans, we continue to lend on a daily basis with instant approvals and access to money that day. That is a huge benefit to our customer retention and the loyalty of our customers. Interest rates are important but the personal confidence that customers can place in the hands of their lender is what makes them come back to us each time. Madison Magazine F E B R UA RY- M A R C H 2 02 0 What drew you to becoming a golf club professional? I chose to become a golf professional because of my love for the game of golf. My dad taught me to play when I was 8 years old. I have always loved to play and be around the game. Although this job can be very difficult and I work very long hours and work most weekends, I love working in the golf business and I couldn’t see myself doing anything different. What’s the best part of working in Madison County? Working and living in Madison County has been great for me and my family. Although my wife and I are not originally from Richmond, we both work and live in Richmond. Our kids were born here and are both students at Madison Central High School. This is our home and we plan to be here for a long time. What’s the best part of working in Madison County? I have bartended in Madison county a very long time and it is a great balance of having a small town feel with a large population! But what the best part is that I get to host/ work a party everyday in the town I live in with my BBH Family! Who wouldn’t love that! Having a clientele that allows for bonding and good friendships to flourish!
