“ So I love to tell the stories of all our ancestors and different things that have happened,” Tatum said.“ And I love to see in their face that it’ s a town that they love.”
Tatum still vividly remembers the first time she stepped into Whitehall on a school trip. She laughed while she recalled begging her parents to take her back.
“ I always say even when I was a little kid, when I would travel somewhere else and we would come in on the interstate and I would see the sign for home, I have this feeling of oh, I love it,” Tatum said.

This year is the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. Tatum said that there are a lot of great stories about the founding of the country right here in Madison County.
