Year 1975, one beggar was begging for 75 paisa one man stops there and asked him why he was asking only for 75 paisa not more or less than that, he replied because he wants to watch sholay, that ' s the magic of bollywood which has recently completed its 100 year. People are always crazy for it but it is more than an entertainer.
“ Ye mahalo ye takhto ye taazo ki duniya, ye insan ke bhuke samajo ki duniya, ye daulat ke bhuke rawazo ki duniya, ye duniya agar mil bhi jaye to kya hai” these are the lines from timeless classic of Indian cinema“ Pyasa” it clearly depicts the social status of India at that time and this status hasn ' t changed till now. Indian cinema popularly known as bollywood has always proved it ' s far more than just a mere entertainer world it ' s thought provoking, emotion provoking and always has been inspired many lives ' s with its issues and subjects. Many movies like Mother India, Sparsh, Kranti, Rang De Basanti, Border, Pyasa and many others had touched the inner core of many Indians and had influenced their lives in every possible manner. Though it was started for entertaining Indians but with due respect of time it transformed itself in sharing the views of common Indian.
Remember the scene of classic movie mother India where a mother shots her own son because he had done that thing which she believes her son would not do ever, this scene teaches you the meaning of justice, it teaches you that justice doesn ' t see any relation. Similarly movies like Sparsh, Khamoshi, Barfi teaches you that love has no boundary it is more than just physical attraction. Movies like Chak De India and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar teaches you the meaning of sportsmanship and unity. And movies like Rang De Basanti, Border, Kranti, A Wednesday always tried to encourage the feeling of patriotism in a common man.
Though Indian movies has passed through many phase like entertaining cinema, parallel cinema, independent cinema and indie cinema but the essence of its feeling had always remain same in all the movie. It is an easiest mode of happiness, sadness, inspiration, romanticism or any other known feeling to the people, this is considered as a religion in India this is BOLLYWOOD meri jaan.
