Born in 1977, and raised in the age of video rentals, Jason Turner is an avid movie watcher,
but his true passion is for acting. "Acting is what I do best. Restraint. Not mugging for the
camera. I prefer to let the imagination go, and use sense memory and total belief in the
moment-to-moment reality. I forget the camera is there, and let things happen."
Watching led to a love of writing, producing, and directing. "You can learn more about
films just by studying them from a point of view that is not simply audience or spectator. I
look at films as entertainment first. If they are well made, I look at them again, as a
student." When other projects had slipped away, he took charge and began to write and
produce his own works. From past frustrations, DARKTRAIN FILMS was born in 2001.
"I'm taking past ideas that were less developed and breathing new life into them from an
older, more experienced, eye and actor to them. My brother, Trevor Turner, is a gifted
writer and we have some ideas that are still relevant today. Some long scripts and
brainstorming sessions that will make new projects come forward."
