The number of children they have helped over the years is incredible, so we wanted to help them. We understood that there was no budget for tree care for such a large property. Nine tree crews worked diligently all day. We removed invasive and dangerous trees while pruning and maintaining native species, we also offered plant health care and planted new trees.” Arbor Day of Service Across the State National Lancers’ Camp DeCarlo • Framingham City of Framingham with Arbor Works, Stanley Tree, Eversource, City of Newton, Town of Needham, Northern Tree, Bigelow Nurseries., DCR, and Keefe Technical students “Camp DiCarlo is home to the National Lancers – a ceremonial cavalry troop in the Massachusetts Organized Militia. While the National Lancers have served in 17 campaigns in the Civil War and World War I, it is now a ceremonial cavalry organization that participates in parades and patriotic events such as the reenactment of the ride of Paul Revere. Beyond trimming, haz- ard removals, and chipping we are honored to be planting trees in conjunction with the Liberty Tree Project – an organization devoted to honoring Massachusetts Veterans who have passed On April 26, 2019 hundreds of MAA members celebrated Arbor Day by donating professional tree care to worthy sites across the state. Since 1979, MAA members have been uniting the industry around giving back and raising awareness about the importance of proper tree care. From Abington to Yarmouth, nearly 30 communities and non- profit sites in need benefitted from a day of tree work generously offered by member volunteers during the MAA’s 40th annual Arbor Day of Service!
