The Green Industry Alliance( GIA) – a coalition of the MAA, Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals, Massachusetts Association of Lawn Care Professionals, Cape Cod Landscape Association, and Golf Course Superintendents of New England – held its first Day on Beacon Hill on October 22, 2025. The event, organized by GIA’ s legislative agents Steve Boksanski and Warren Lent of BCB Government Relations, brought industry representatives to the Capitol on a very rainy Boston morning. Special thanks to Jack Ingram, MCA, Bartlett Tree Expert Co., for representing the MAA.

Nearly a dozen members met with legislators through scheduled visits and impromptu conversations, raising awareness of the green industry’ s priorities and professionalism. According to Boksanski, the day“ successfully positioned the green industry as reasonable, thoughtful, and professional— a great success to build on next year.”

Participant Matt McCoy, MCLP, shared that the meetings“ made the regulatory process more real and underscored the importance of GIA’ s advocacy,” noting that Environmental and Natural Resources staff said GIA is the only group speaking up for the industry’ s responsible practices.
