« Port-Louis nous fascine! », Astrid Dalais et Guillaume Jauffret, âmes fondatrices de Porlwi by Light, sont tombés amoureux de cette ville bouillonnante qu’ ils connaissent par cœur. Leur festival, inspiré de la Fête des Lumières à Lyon ou encore de Nuit Blanche à Paris, a ressuscité une capitale délaissée. 450 000 personnes ont découvert sous une nouvelle lumière cette cité historique trop longtemps restée dans l’ obscurité.
Aujourd’ hui, Port-Louis peut entamer sa mue: « il y a, selon nous, deux défis majeurs à relever: la préservation du patrimoine, qui fait l’ âme de la ville mais qui disparaît au fil des ans, et l’ aspect écologique, où tout reste à faire pour rendre Port-Louis plus vert et plus respirable. »
Les fondateurs de Porlwi by Light nous dévoilent le Port- Louis de leur rêve, « une ville au patrimoine repensé comme des lieux hybrides où se mêleraient culture et éducation. Une ville ouverte sur la mer, avec des rues piétonnes et des espaces verts plus nombreux pour créer des lieux de vie, d’ échanges et de rencontres ». Un rêve formidable qui n’ a jamais été aussi proche de se réaliser!
