Une fois les hauts apprivoisés, retrouvez le battant des lames sur la
côte ouest. Des températures plus clémentes, un lagon azuré aux eaux
tièdes et une expérience unique. Alors, Fred, dessine-moi un poisson !
Pour mieux vous plonger dans l’univers aqueux de La Saline, une
expérience à vivre en famille ou entre amis vous y attend. Et Fred
n’est autre que l’illustrateur passionné qui vous accompagnera dans
l’eau, avec comme équipements un masque et un tuba, bien sûr,
mais également… une planche à dessin et des craies waterproof
aux pigments magiques. Au lieu de prendre en photo les plus beaux
coraux et poissons tropicaux de l’océan Indien pour la postérité, vous
les esquisserez sous l’œil avisé du connaisseur. Un délice pour les yeux,
mais aussi une immersion dans un héritage linguistique empli de
poésie : poissons-papillons, demoiselles, labres… Vous peaufinerez
ensuite vos œuvres sur la plage tout en profitant du doux soleil du plus
grand lagon de l’île.
... To the seashore
Now that the highlands hold no secret for you, you may want to
head down to the western coast, where milder temperatures and
warm azure waters set the tone for a unique experience: a wonderful
incursion in the undersea kingdom of La Saline, to share with your
family and friends. “Can you draw me a fish?”, would say the Little
Prince. A talented illustrator with a passion for the sea, Fred will take
you on an atypical snorkelling tour, with drawing boards and magic
underwater chalks as additional equipment. Leave your waterproof
camera behind: this time, you will sketch your own vision of the most
beautiful fishes and corals of the Indian Ocean, under the guidance
of the expert artist. It will be both a feast for the eyes and food for the
mind, as you memorise the poetic names of encountered species such
as butterfly fish, damsel fish, wrasse… Then, it will be time for you to
put the finishing touches to your work, while drying in the gentle sun,
on the shore of the island’s largest lagoon.

Du ciel...
Les extrêmes font légion sur l’île intense et une « Parenthèse décalée »
en deux volets vous y a été concoctée. Faire « Le grand saut »,
la Réunion s’y prête. Décollage du chef-lieu du Sud de l’île,
St Pierre, à bord d’un hélicoptère... et la singularité topographique
de La Réunion s’offrira à vos yeux. Vous en avez déjà eu un aperçu
en atterrissant à l’aéroport Roland Garros, alors que l’avion
longeait la côte nord-ouest. La Réunion, c’est un dôme magique !
Cette fois-ci, à 3 000 m d’altitude, briefé par un moniteur, vous
plongerez dans les airs en chute libre. Rassurez-vous : vous
serez sur la côte sous le vent, protégée des alizées de la côte est.
Bien harnaché à votre porteur, après les premières hésitations et
surprises, vous lâcherez prise… empli d’adrénaline, et subjugué par
la beauté des paysages vus du ciel : le Piton des Neiges, le Grand
Bénare et l’océan Indien. Vous aviez dit « intense » ?

The ultimate island is also one of extremes, as the two excursions
off the beaten tracks, which we have chosen for you, will prove.
Reunion is the perfect place for the “big jump”. The helicopter
takes off at St Pierre, the main commune of the South, and
in a second, the island’s amazing contours unfold beneath
your eyes. From the air, Reunion appears like a magical dome!
You already had a glimpse of it when landing at the Roland
Garros airport from the North-West coast. Only this time, you
will jump in free fall from an helicopter at 3,000 m above the
ground. There’s no need to worry: you will be on the leeward
coast, sheltered from the trade winds of the East and securely
harnessed to your carrier. The first few seconds of hesitation
and surprise will give way to a rush of adrenaline, then you will
let yourself glide, spellbound by the fantastic bird’s-eye view
over the Piton des Neiges, the Grand Bénare and the Indian
Ocean. Did you say “intense”?
