LUXURY INDIAN OCEAN IMMOBILIER
Following the principles of bioclimatic architecture , also means asking the right questions in order to build differentlybetter .
The kitchen , created by Joseph Anamunthoo of the workshop ‘ La Bastille & Sons Ltd ’, is an example of this . Between functionality and conviviality , its minimalist industrial style is picked out in different shades of green , like a nod to the nuances of the tropical garden which surrounds the house . Omnipresent , nature is one of the pillars of bioclimatic architecture .
The interiors , largely made using reclaimed items , were created by Jugaad to give new life to forgotten furniture . The building materials , as far as possible , are obtained locally : concrete flagstones for the floors made at Goodlands , false ceilings made of traveller ’ s palm leaves , an old cast iron tank to collect rainwater , wood and metal sourced from different parts of the island ... Proof , if it is necessary , that our island is full of resources for those who know how to be persistent and imaginative !
