For those with straight hair, try a high ponytail. These can be especially nice if your take your time brushing out all the lumps and bumps and then taking a curling iron to the pieces in the ponytail. If the ponytail is not for you, do a side braid; this way, the majority of your hair will be pulled away but will not accentuate your face like a ponytail will.
