As everyone is well aware, we have started the process of
finding a new pastor to lead us in worship and continue
the teaching of God’s word at the Lutheran Church of
Mahomet. I wanted to take time in this article to give an
update on the process of where we are . Once Pastor Ni-
koli had informed us of his next calling and last dates with
us, the council has been in communication with the synod
to start the call process for a new pastor. At the same
time, we have been in communication with the synod for
an interim pastor request as we work through the call
process. Pr. Ken Sandlin and Pr. Marueen Stein from the
synod office are assisting us in these areas. In the later
part of February, Pr. Ken came and met with council to
start the call process. The first steps have been creating
our Ministry Site Profile and have members participate
in a survey. The survey responses have been sent to the
synod where they’ll be reviewed and compiled. The sur-
vey information will help complete a portion of the minis-
