crew even closer together.
The theme for the ELCA
Youth Gathering was “This
Changes Everything.”
Those of us privileged to
attend can attest to this
statement. We have
returned changed human
beings. The overwhelming
joy and energy at the Mass
Gatherings in the evenings:
the music, the dancing, the
light shows, and the wor-
ship reminded us of God’s
power to unite diverse
people. We shared in
worship with 31,000 other
people, and the power of
our united voices will ring
in our ears for years to
come.
We also encountered
brokenness on our trip,
and we were changed as we
felt our worldview expand-
