“ The Work Experience Programme 2024 was truly an eye-opening experience for me . It allowed me to have a glimpse of the working world beyond SJI . This once in a lifetime opportunity has really changed my views and made me question my future options . This experience has spurred me to take on new challenges and to step out of my comfort zone to explore new things .
For this Work experience programme , I was attached to the National Kidney Foundation for a duration of 3 weeks . NKF is a charity organisation that focuses on helping patients with kidney failure by providing low-cost kidney dialysis and promoting awareness regarding kidney disease .
More specifically , I was attached to the Donors and Volunteers Management Team which focuses on fundraising for the company . During these 3 weeks , I was tasked with reviewing their existing fundraising programmes as well as conducting market research to propose fundraising ideas which could be adopted by NKF . I also worked on projects such as helping NKF design a mascot and I was even attached to an NKF dialysis centre where I got a chance to have a chat with the patients .
