allows different teams to know each other better . Conversations with bosses are really easy to start as they are often sitting at the same desks as ourselves and we can always go up to them for advice . There are spaces around the office with whiteboards to allow for ideation . I think some challenges they face especially in the advisory team is that there are many overlapping projects and clients with many different wants and needs . However , the team is able to keep their heads down and work through these challenges together . After every project is done , the team also has a small celebration internally and this has shown me the effectiveness of leading a team well and how to inspire everyone to work towards the same goal . as all the supervisors and mentors have a wealth of knowledge . At the same time , the mentors here are open to interns and advocate for them , making sure they get meaningful work to do and immersing them in the work environment . At the same time , they pay attention and look out for you .. Everyone that works here is friendly and always willing to help as they are passionate about what they do .
As a point of reflection , I feel that it would be good for SJI to push for students to better understand the cyber world , not only to stay safe and protect themselves , but also to be able to innovate within this space .

Before coming to Ensign , I was already interested in the cyber world and excited to be able to intern in such a large company . I had learnt Python and taken online courses on computer science but never really explored the area of cybersecurity . Being attached to the advisory team has taught me that the knowledge I have is a good foundation to understanding the larger picture . It has also allowed me to connect IT to the business perspective of the company . At the same time , I have learnt much more such as other coding languages and different intelligence security frameworks . I have been advised by my mentor that if I really have an interest in this field , that I can always go online to do more research and take up courses . The workspace at Ensign is an innovative and motivating place to work , where people help and push each other . I like the laissez-faire leadership approach that shows the trust the leaders have in those that work for them . I really enjoy the critical thinking processes and the freedom to explore and experiment without someone peering over my shoulders constantly . At the same time , when a problem arises , it is always easy to approach the managers and bosses to consult with them and bounce ideas off them . Lastly , working in an environment like Ensign ‘ s is an uplifting experience where the bosses are able to raise the morale of everybody in the team . They are able to provide a vision and inspire the team to work together towards the same goal but with flexibility and the opportunity to explore and experiment . Overall , the WEP has been a really fulfilling one for me and I would definitely consider going back to Ensign for a longer internship or even working here .
Whoever is considering Ensign for WEP should definitely go for it as you are certain to learn a lot
