Community : In support of the migrant community

On 20 July 2024 , SJI held the muchanticipated Mahalo Carnival , marking its return after a six-year hiatus with the enthusiastic support of Josephians past and present . We are proud to share that it was a resounding success !

The school grounds were filled with excitement as students , teachers , and families came together for a day of fun and festivity , in support of the Migrant Workers ’ Centre ( MWC ) and we were overwhelmed by the number of attendees as well as their generosity ! Thanks to the incredible support from the community , we raised $ 19,500 for the Migrant Workers Centre which will contribute to the services provided by the MWC , from legal aid to welfare programmes .
The carnival kicked off with a showcase of student talent , featuring performances that ranged from captivating dance routines to musical acts , highlighting the diverse skills and passions within the school community . The live performances , from student bands to local acts , were a huge hit and added to the lively atmosphere of the day .
A special “ shout-out ” to our student volunteers who worked tirelessly to make everything run smoothly . From taking part in classic carnival games to face painting and the bounce house , our guests had a blast ! These hands-on activities engaged participants of all ages and fostered a
