A JOURNEY OF MOUNTAINS AND MILES IN HANOI

Service learning , cultural appreciation , and physical exploration foster and embody the three IB CAS strands and aims . And this is exactly what the students who went to Hanoi , Vietnam , for their Global Education Programme ( GEP ) trip experienced over their six days there .

The students engaged in elements of Creativity , Activity , and Service throughout the trip , enhancing their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience . They interacted with the local community in both the city and rural areas , and were exposed to many cultural sites in Hanoi . This trip provided opportunities for students to cultivate inner growth through determination , reflection and collaboration ; traits that should be found in every Josephian .
Our Josephians spent time at the local school in Sapa , where they had the chance to interact with the local students by engaging in activities such as football or the local game using bamboo . They also engaged in simple games as part of English class .
