Together at the Suphanburi Sports School indoor sports hall
gymnastics . A friendly match against the school ’ s football team added an extra layer of excitement , providing an opportunity for cultural exchange through the universal language of sports .
The team also visited the BG Pathum United Stadium and Training Centre , receiving an exclusive tour of the footballing grounds and learnt about how BG Pathum United , a renowned professional Thai football club was run . Our students even scored the opportunity to play a friendly match against the BG Pathum United Football Academy at the Yamaoka Hanasaka Academy . This experience not only showcased the dedication and discipline required in high-level sports but also fostered camaraderie between the students from both nations .
In a unique and hands-on cultural immersion , our students ventured into the heart of agricultural studies at the Herechai Rice Learning Centre . With their hands in the fertile soil , the students partook of the ancient practice of rice planting , gaining a firsthand appreciation for the meticulous process that sustains communities .
Following this enriching experience , the students transitioned to the culinary realm , where they engaged in Thai dessert making , guided by local experts . This holistic encounter , blending agriculture and culinary traditions , not only deepened the students ’ cultural awareness but also planted seeds of appreciation for the interconnectedness of Thai life and the sustainability of its cherished traditions .
The students then had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Muay
Thai during a captivating lesson at the Jaroenthong Muay Thai Gym . Guided by seasoned Muay Thai trainers , the students learnt the intricate techniques and strategies of this ancient martial art and delved into the essence of Thai culture embedded within the sport . This hands-on encounter left an indelible mark , fostering a profound appreciation for Muay Thai as both a formidable martial art and a rich cultural tapestry .
The lessons learnt during this immersive journey were profound . Students developed a heightened awareness of Thai culture , building lasting friendships that transcended language barriers . The experience instilled values of discipline , resilience , and empathy , particularly through participation in service learning activities that touched the lives of the local community .
Mr . Syaifudin , Head of Discipline , remarked on the heartening sight of students from both countries interacting and laughing , emphasising the importance of empathy and respect .
Nithush Saththikumar ( FN401 ) encapsulated the transformative nature of the experience , expressing gratitude for the knowledge gained about football played at a high level , the dedication required in sports , and the cultural differences and similarities between Thailand and Singapore . His words echoed the sentiments of an entire group whose lives have been enriched through the trip .
