Anew era begins as the world recovers from the pandemic . Business activities , work and leisure trips have resumed with fervour in a post-COVID , hybrid world . We have remained connected with each other during the pandemic with the help of many rapidly-evolving technologies despite staying apart and living behind closed doors during the last three years . Yet some of these groundbreaking technologies that employ Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) such as ChatGPT and Midjourney have also raised eyebrows , becoming a growing concern worldwide as they have evolved “ faster than expected ” while legislation and regulators have yet to catch up on the game . We bring you some insights on this trending topic from the perspective of two Josephians who tested out ChatGPT and other AI applications to see if they are as good as they are hyped out to be .

As the saying goes , all work and no play makes Jack ( or our Joes ) a dull boy . In this issue , we bring you all the excitement and highlights from this year ’ s National School Games and Singapore Youth Festival , where our Josephians fight it out to shine for SJI . Josephians - students and staff alike - relished their learning journeys this term , from the two-week work experience programme to watching a live play at the park , or bonding with the larger Lasallian community of educators at the annual Lasallian Formation Day . This term , we also welcomed three new educators who bring with them their talents , hopes and aspirations for the SJI community .
We hope you enjoy this issue of Lumen . We welcome you to share with us your suggestions for our future issues via contact @ sji . edu . sg . Ora et Labora !
