various groups depending on their number of years of service in a Lasallian institution . The first year participants were introduced to the Founder ’ s story . Those with 2 - 3 years of service were introduced to the virtues of Gravity , Humility and Silence through an excursion to the Botanical Gardens . Those with 3 - 5 years participated in a multi-sport activity where they were introduced to the fundamentals of table-tennis , basketball , floorball and frisbee for an experiential learning programme . Those in Year 6 learned more about a foundational document titled “ The Conduct of Schools ” from a thoroughbred Lasallian , Mr Timothy Goh , principal of St . Stephen ’ s School . Finally , those with 7 and more years of service attended a fascinating talk by Bro . Raphael Miguel Crisostomo , who through an experiment during his sharing , reminded the attendees on how new technologies like ChatGPT can disrupt the conventional way of teaching and learning and bring about a whole new dimension of the teacher-learner experience .
This year , the Lasallian family all over the world has been called to re-evaluate what it means to be made of the “ Lasallian DNA ” and to build new pathways to transform lives . This gathering was the perfect opportunity for Lasallians from all over Singapore to share ideas and experiences of being Lasallian to move closer towards an understanding and practice of these values . At our core , is always a desire to see to the human and Christian education of our student so that they can live fuller and more joyful lives . But teaching can have a transformative effect on teachers too ; nurturing a community that enjoys its vocation together , so that we too can live fuller and more joyful lives . This year ’ s Lasallian Formation Day certainly provided us with the opportunity to do this and we look forward to many more to come .
